Dunedin has Scottish Roots dating to 1820 and is located on the Gulf of Mexico and offers wooded and subtropical waterfront living. The Dunedin community hosts unique assets such as Honeymoon and Caladesi Island State Parks. The community is a natural getaway for boating, swimming, fishing, picnicking and nature exploration. Dunedin is conveniently accessible from two major airports located in Tampa and St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airports. Florida has many renowned attractions within minutes of Dunedin.

Culture

The Dunedin Highland Games is held each spring and located near the Dunedin Fine Art Center, The Dunedin Fine Art Center is a city regional exhibition gallery along with an educational center by the Junior Service League and engages the services of professional artists and art teachers to teach painting, drawing, printmaking, photograph, pottery and sculpture and host each fall a large Art Harvest attended by many famous artists.

The Salvador Dali Museum is located in St, Petersburg and the John and Mabel Ringling Museum and Asolo Theatre in Sarasota are some of the best in North America.

The Tampa Bay area is also home to two world-renwoned performing arts centers, Ruth Eckerd Hall and the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.

The art of learning is enhanced by a modern Dunedin Library with an extensive collection of book, magazines, audio and visual cassettes, books on tape, records, games and puzzles. The library is computer managed and is part of a cooperative library system enabling cardholders use of participating libraries throughout Pinellas County.

Sports

Each March Dunedin hosts the spring training of the World Champion Toronto Blue Jays a professional Baseball team located at Knology Park and Grant Field. The Dunedin Stadium hosts the Dunedin Blue Jays and a strong Little League for its young ball players.

Several professional and college sports teams are located in the Tampa Bay area, including the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Raymond James Stadium is home to the Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the University of South Florida Bulls football and the Outback Bowl.
